Producers of Niko & The Way to the Stars Hannu Tuomainen and Petteri Pasanen were awarded with the Producer of the year prize. The winners are chosen by The Central Organisation of Finnish Film Producers.

The jury stated that despite the competition within animation genre Pasanen and Tuomainen have succeeded in producing a film of high quality that has done well also at international market.
